“ I would like to MAKE SELF DEFENSE GREAT AGAIN “

Formed in Law and in International Relations, I worked as a consultant for a few companies in Cyprus, Morocco, and Turkey. 10 years ago, I settled in Malaysia after being hired by a Singaporean tech company. Corporate life did not excite me very much.

I have known bullies in my childhood and faced some assaults in my hometown, Brussels. Afterward, I spent the last 2 decades training martial arts, obsessed with the idea of “being prepared for the worst, while being in peace with myself”. I have learned from mentors all over the world, from civilian and military instructors, exploring the arts and only keeping what might be relevant in a real assault. In the stree,t there is no rules!

Five years ago, I decided to combine my passion for self-defense, my years of training and teaching, and the need to fill up a gap in the health industry. I left my tech job and founded **JEET ACADEMY KL, the first institute that specialized in teaching Self Defense in Malaysia.** Soon enough, the academy attracted renowned instructors who joined me in the adventure**.** And it has since been a blast. Today JEET ACADEMY KL is one of the reference martial arts studios in the country.

VISION: With the academy, I envision that Self Defense will be taught everywhere one day. From schools to companies. It will help solve so many problems, starting with bullied kids and bringing more awareness about violent crimes like sexual assaults. We are working toward making self-defense more accessible, demystifying its complexity.

CORPORATE: I created a corporate workshop called “Level UP-An Intro to the art of facing violence” to initiate employees to the basic self defense tools allowing them to survive an assault. This hands-on workshop does not only increase their awareness but also provides them the tools to increase their chance of surviving aggression.

COACHING: Convinced that you only master something when you are able to share it, I’ve been teaching martial arts everywhere I lived. It allowed me to get exposed to various types of people and to sharpen my method. I am also an eternal student, still training and exploring, today. The journey is endless.

I think I found my “Ikigai”. And I am on a Mission: “Making Self Defence Great Again”.

METHOD: I have specialized in teaching civilians, regardless of their gender, age, or fitness level. I have developed a method accessible to everyone, with realistic and easy-to-learn techniques, far away from all the non-sense one may find on the internet or by inexperienced instructors, often totally disconnected from violence as it occurs in reality. Training and being prepared is the only option.

CINEMA: My straight-to-point method attracted an unexpected crowd: cinema productions, which started hiring me to help their stunt teams and actors for their action scenes. Nowadays, more and more directors want to shoot more realistic fighting scenes, closer to violence as it exists in our real world. And this is where I can bring them some lights.
